Exhaust cleaning by discharge plasma

High voltage electric discharges is utilized to mitigate the harmful gaseous pollutants present in diesel engine exhaust.  The research is aimed at reducing the oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and hydrocarbons with plasma initiated radicals. High reduction efficiency has been achieved with the aid of additional treatment involving usage of solid industrial wastes.
