Power Engineering Cluster @ IISc

The Power Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science has significantly contributed to many major power engineering projects in the country. Over the years, in accordance with the newer developments and reorientation, emphasize of the group has diversified into three major streams namely, Power System, High Voltage and Power Electronics. The present Power Engineering group deals with both fundamental and applied research in these streams. The research activity is not only diverse but also has an interleaving within and outside of the three streams. While major emphasis is on power, several research and developmental activities involving space, defence and industrial problems are being pursued.
