 Detection of buried landmines

In this  project, pulsed intense electromagnetic field based detection and location of buried land mines has been carried out.

Electromagnetic launchers

In this project, a capacitor bank  based railgun type EM launcher has been designed and developed. Work is in progress to replace the capacitor bank with a pulsed alternator (or Compulsator). Developmental studies on Coil-gun technology has also been started.

Intentional High Power Electromagnetic Interference Sources

Impulse Radiating Antenna (IRA)  as well as High power microwave bsead IEMI sources has been developed and their EM coupling with systems have been carried out

Novel Dielectrics for HV Power Apparatus

Novel Dielectric materials  for HV cables (having better treeing performance) , HV cast epoxy resin  transformers (having better heat conduction properties), Overhead Polymeric insulators ( with better Corona cutting, tracking and erosion performance) have been developed.
